Sho’ nuff, out of Seattle, Willie & the Whips
When  you dangle a bunch of like strings close together they wrap together.  Willie & the Whips started forming a braid in 2014 along a mission to make great blues music for people to dance and groove to. Learning and playing the blues is a great vocation to have given life’s so many ups and downs and Willie & the Whips make the most of it.  Drawing from the rich history the blues offer WATW know a good many songs written by others but at the same time forge ahead with new original compositions. WATW are both direct and indirectly inspired by Slim Harpo,  Fred McDowell, RL Burnside, Jr Kimbrough, Nina Simone, Johnny Shines, Howlin’ Wolf, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Rosetta Tharp, Jimmy Reed.. all y’all that like to groove, moan, stomp, holler, rest, then go to sleep and wake up again.

WATW‘s first recording Homage, was released August 18, 2016 on Teethskin Records.  Homage was nominated for Best Blues Album of 2016 by our Washington State Blues Society.
